Ajay Gorrepati

CO-FOUNDER

Mr. Gorrepati is a Co-Founder of Voltus Capital and a Partner at Collegiate Housing International. The two companies jointly develop student housing complexes. The most recent being a 110 unit student housing complex at Centralia College.

Mr. Gorrepati spent 20 years as a Hedge Fund Manager (real estate, credit and public equity). Mr. Gorrepati was a Co-Founder (Director of Research) of Valo Group (SEC Registered Hedge Fund). Under Mr. Gorrepati’ s leadership, Valo Group was ranked a Top 10 Hedge Fund by BarclayHedge, and the firm grew from $5 Million to $100 Million in Assets Under Management. 

Mr. Gorrepati was a Portfolio Manager at Gracie Capital and Karsch Capital both of which managed $3 Billion. Previously Mr. Gorrepati was a Special Situations Investment Analyst at Taconic Capital which managed $10B. Mr. Gorrepati began his career as a Private Equity Analyst for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) Merchant Banking which managed $10+ Billion.

Mr. Gorrepati graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School and a B.A.S. in Systems Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Mr. Chelani is a Co-Founder of Voltus Capital and the President of ShoreRock Group. Under Mr. Ghelani's leadership, ShoreRock has successfully developed and operated hotels under the Marriott and Hilton brand..

Prior to ShoreRock, Mr. Ghelani worked as a Corporate Restructurer. He lead operational turnarounds at corporations to improve their performance and profitability. He advised top management consulting, private equity, and investment banking firms in developing and implementing operational restructurings..

Mr. Ghelani was a Co-Founder of MedOnTime (Healthcare Informatics) which he sold to CSGI Inc. in 2001.

Mr. Ghelani graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. and M.S. in Systems Engineering. Mr. Ghelani further graduated from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA.
